These rates include

  • program fee,
  • three glorious meals per day, lovingly-prepared with ingredients from our garden and neighbors, organic and ethical whenever possible,
  • endless snacks, coffee, tea, and alcohol* (*there is no alcohol during the Artmonk Retreat), and
  • housing in a shared bedroom.

All Art Monastery program participants, artists-in-residence, and guests do one hour/day of helping in the kitchen, either cooking or cleaning. Rubbing elbows at the kitchen sink is a building block of our celebratory service-oriented community. Roll up your sleeves and let’s get to know each other!

$850 PROFESSIONAL RATE

for those living comfortably. The Professional Rate covers costs and keeps the Art Monastery sustainable. This rate is also helps us offer lower prices to those who could not otherwise afford to attend.

$650 FULL RATE 

for those with a regular income, making ends meet. The Full Rate covers the costs associated with hosting people at the Art Monastery.

$450 SUBSIDIZED RATE 

for those with an income low enough that making ends meet is a challenge.

These rates are include program fee, three delicious meals per day, housing in a shared bedroom, and shared studio space.

Check in 4-6pm.

Check out 11am.

Regardless of where you place yourself on the above sliding scale, you may upgrade to a solo room for an additional $75.

Solo rooms also have a writing desk or table.

Discounts

The following discounts can be applied to programs such as the Artmonk Retreat and Artist Residencies. These discounts have already been incorporated into the Worktrade program rates.

Camping – $50 off weeklong / $25 off weekend programs (May through October)

We offer a $50 discount if you choose to sleep in a tent. This option is available May through October. Please check the weather before you choose this option. Let us know if you’d like to borrow a tent or bedding from us.

Retreat+Residency Combo – $100 off 

Enjoy $50 discount for each additional program week you stay.

So when you register in the Artmonk Retreat and a self led Artist Residency Week, you receive a $100 discount on your combined registration fees. Or you could register for three continuous Artist Residency Weeks and receive $150 off.

Extended Residency – $100 off

Enjoy a $100 discount when you add any two residency weeks together.

Early Bird – $100 off weeklong / $50 off weekend programs

Enjoy a $100 discount for completing the online registration form and paying in full for our programs six weeks before the program begins.

Bring a Friend/Collaborator – $50 off weeklong / $25 off weekend programs

Enjoy a $25-50 discount for you and a friend when you completing the online registration form and pay the registration fee.

Guest Rate

You are welcome to come for a few nights to dip your toe in the waters of the Art Monastery. During certain programs, such as the Artmonk Retreat, we do not accept guests in order to hold the container of the program. Visitors are welcome between programs and during Self Led Artist Residency weeks.
