About the session
- How to bypass your analytical mind to access deeper creative wisdom and spiritual guidance. This playful "sacred weirdness" approach helps you move past overthinking and connect with your authentic artistic voice.
- Why engaging both left and right brain creates more powerful creative breakthroughs than trying to silence your logical mind. You'll understand how to give each part of your brain a specific role so they work together harmoniously.
- How visual symbols and personal mythology become your unique artistic language. This approach shifts focus from technical skill to discovering the deeper "why" behind your creative expression.
- The practice of sacred pauses to slow down time and find meaning in everyday moments. These intentional breaks between tasks can transform anxiety into presence and help you experience each day more fully.
Robyn will guide you in a simple magazine collage technique that reveals hidden emotions and unresolved experiences. By trusting your subconscious to guide your image selection, you'll discover what needs healing and receive gentle permission to release old fears.
About the speaker
Robyn McClendon is an Artist, Healer, and Artaeomythologist. Telling stories and helping others to heal are at the core of who she is and what she is called to do; this calling embraces all that she is inspired to share with the world. ArtMythos is part of several of her projects and narratives. As a mixed media artist, Robyn tells stories and encourages others to do the same through visual expression. As a Healer and Reiki Master, she helps others shed old stories and supports them in replacing those narratives with ones that are empowering and self-directed, free from the burdens of cultural mores and family histories. As an Artaeomythologist, Robyn leads retreats and workshops that combine the visual arts, idea generation, and book arts to help participants find their voice and their story, enabling them to move forward and cultivate a more authentic artistic experience.Robyn has dedicated most of her life to seeking and sharing answers to life’s most mystical questions: Who are we? Where are we? Why are we here? In her quest for understanding, she has studied and worked as an Artaeomythologist for the past 30 years, teaching at the Smithsonian Institutions and the Corcoran Galleries. She has combined her archaeological adventures and knowledge of historical symbols and icons to formulate theoretical research in the areas of human consciousness. Her field research and museum experience have deepened her spiritual insights, expanding her perception and innerstanding. Robyn’s latest line of research brings together her three passions—field research, art, and spirituality—with a particular focus on shapes, sounds, and symbols and their effect on human consciousness.
