As you may know, the core team of the Art Monastery is gathering in a beautiful home in Lyons, Colorado (just north of Boulder) for an Artmonk Practice Period: 21 days of silent meditation and creative exploration. We are swimming in gratitude for this opportunity to dive deeply into an earnest exploration, refreshing the foundations of the Art Monastery Project.
We plan to offer weekend and/or weeklong retreats here in this home, sharing the benefits that we find this month and furthering the exploration. These retreats could include:
- sitting & walking meditation
- dharma talks & meditation instruction
- guided creative exercises in visual art, music, and movement
- chanting & singing
- nature walks in the winter wonderland
- oryoki (ritualized formal eating meditation)
You are invited!
Would you like to participate?
Possible dates include:
- weekend version: March 18-20
- weekend version: April 1-3
- weeklong version: April 1-8
We will run some combination of the above retreats according to interest. We hope to offer the retreats on a pay what you can basis, with a minimum of something like $150 for the weeklong.
More details on everything to come in early March, but we wanted to run up a smoke signal about those dates before we dive into silence… tonight!
There is limited sleeping space in the house. Participants will be included in the order in which the replies are received. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org, specifying which dates work for you, by March 1 to make your non-binding reservation.
We will offer the retreat(s) only if there is enough interest.
More about what we’re examining this month on the Art Monastery website.
Know someone else who may be interested? Feel free to forward!
We’ll be in touch about the rest of the details at the beginning of March.
