Red Flood Moon
Full Moon August 28, 2026
And you that shall cross from shore to shore years hence are
more to me, and more in my meditations, than you might suppose.
…
It avails not, time nor place—distance avails not,
I am with you, you men and women of a generation, or ever
so many generations hence,
Just as you look on the river and sky, so I felt
—Walt Whitman
Deluge of this human-thick era, awash in information
each newborn being calls us back to primary connection
into the realm of pre-verbal existence
as the yellow swallowtail suckles bougainvillea nectar
as mice make do with seeds of late summer
as the meek break bread in freedom circles
as color is renewed in the dark iris of a child in arms
Death is impermanent
& remedies the false dilemma of scarcity
so one is free to love
even in the shadow of confusion
as tenderness is no commodity
as art accrues potency in being gifted
as empathy is a mirror evidenced in everything
as life is so obviously precious & not limited to our species
This moon releases the spell
red light for reunion
delusion vanquished
rebirth facing down the flood
Be still in unselfconscious luminosity Beloved
all is absence, openness, spontaneity, unity
