Bless you with all the love in the universe

Showing up like this, over & over again, breathing

Looking out through your eyes at this vast suffering

And not losing faith in the basic goodness of all beings

Or losing & then working out the kinks in your faith

Each of the tropes of awakening develops the theme

Every one of our glances at the heart is connection

Dissociated, hungry, delusional, full of rage

And seeing things as they are, just so

Pat, trite, mostly rehashed from ancient greats

The insight holds: each of us is holding the key

Our part is unique, impossible, challenging, near

everlasting—

Wake up! Wake up! Don’t waste your life!
