The World Is A Cup Overflowing Moon

Full Moon   June 29, 2026

Look within: do not allow the special quality or worth of any thing pass you by.

           -Marcus Aurelius (trans. Martin Hammond)

Longing for a memory of wholeness in the midst

of wholly forgetting what I came into this room for.

Earth settles on the welcome table native cloth, a fine dust

that tastes like kaolin clay toothpowder, Grape Nerds & trust.

“What to a slave is the 4th of July?” Imagine a holiday from work

where we talk about inequality & decide to radically transform it.

Midsummer arrives with a distracted toothache as a humble bureaucrat

collects sewer taxes far from home while invoking Frederick Douglass.

Crying in grief over needless division, my irresolute birdheart

takes flight at the grace & generosity of strangers in this iron sunset.

Awake deep in the night with everything to do, I can only feel cold

air move downhill caressing old contours of this infilled wild creekbed.
