We moved into a monastery! Now we live in Labro! Here’s our blog about it.

What’s happening now?

  • Art Monastery Debut in Labro — May 8 — Come and see our San Pancrazio Vespers, a presentation about the Art Monastery, and then join us for Cena Art Monastica, dinner with music and entertainment by the Artmonks in Residence!
  • Gregorian Chant Concerts in Orvieto — May 9 — The Bishop of Orvieto will preside over a concert of Gregorian music, the culmination of a weeklong workshop in chant hosted by the Art Monastery. Another concert will be performed the same night at the photography exhibit of Douglas R. Gilbert, Luce Italiana.
  • Symposium V: Chant Deconstructed, New Music inspired by Gregorian Chant — May 13 — The fifth in the symposium series but the first in Labro, artmonk-in-residence Professor Thomas Bickley will speak about the deconstruction of Gregorian Chant and share his explorations in new music for voice, instruments, and electronics.
  • Come and check out our new digs! The Art Monastery is hosted by the monastery-turned-hotel Colle di Costa. With great views and lovely high-ceilinged rooms, you can have a great vacation and support the arts at the same time!
  • Keep On Donating your Frequent Flyer Miles — We’ve already gotten four artists sponsored — we only need one more! You can give partial miles.
